A Student at TAW

Hello there, people. I am a Character Animation student at The Animation Workshop.

After finishing school I went to The Drawing Academy to gain knowledge of/and skills in classical drawing techniques. I then applied for the The Animation Workshop for the second time and struck gold! This blog sums up what I've done and is doing now, both in school and for personal fun...

a small, digital sketch

Even though I love the unfinished look I'll probably re-work on the hand in the same style. This was a test.
Not sure if I like the rougher, sketchy look of the first one better - but here's some added work on the arms and smoothing of the face...

1st semester ShowReel

A compilation of what I've done and learned during my first semester here at The Animation Workshop, starting from the famous and basic 'bouncing ball' assignments to the official mid-term test.

Background Music used: "Turtle Woods/The Pits/Night Fight" (Crash Bandicoot 2 Game Soundtrack) by Mutato Muzika.

design class -Imaginary Friend Battle-

The final assignment for our second Design class... My teacher had to help me with some more dramatic lighting, but otherwise this gives me a great sense of accomplishment... I learned a lot about rendering at least.
Of course I chose an owl-bear-creature. It couldn't be helped...

People sketches

Learning about values has helped me understand how to indicate facial features faster... I like this sign of progress. I'm almost comfortable with doing these now.

Oh well, here's two page of it made with a 2B pencil.(pardon the class-notes)
